God is not watching from the bedpost…. God’s in the Bed

Ok well… Never have I ever.. given a public sex talk! I guess as you get older, even if you’re somewhat thin skinned, you gotta just say what’s gotta be said!

We been talking about the un-status quo, speaking about topics that generally aren’t talked about in a “church.” But in a transformational spiritual community, those are the very things that move us from “religious” to spiritual.

Kicking off the month Rev Jeanette talked about “othering”. That is the ethnocentric (tribal) tendency to have reason to find an adversary, the other - and make oneself (one’s community) better than. Witnessing that tendency in oneself is the beginning of a deeper emotional and spiritual intelligence that leverages the creative process (Spiritual Mind treatment) by diminishing cognitive dissonance.  

I know, it’s a lot to digest.

Rev Corinne showed us how even paper cut traumas, impact authenticity and awareness of one’s intrinsic integrity.  Sometimes that awareness can set us on the road to profound healing.

So this Sunday, I get sex…( oh that didn’t come out right at all!)

Ken Wilbur says

“Sex is not a sin against Spirit, but a direct road to Spirit”

There’s so much to unpack in that statement, and I’m with him. So let this be a caution, cause I’m not an expert and have strong opinions about this touchy topic (pun intended). It’s loaded with potential pitfalls around gender identification, swamps of confusion about relational preferences and dead ends of helpful advice or “how things should be.”

So how do we get on “… a direct road to Spirit”?

Enter the property by the side entrance behind the staff parking lot. Look for our signs to guide you! Please use street parking or park at Ben Lee Park (1.5 blocks away).
