SPECIAL TWO-HOUR WORKSHOP

“From Loaves & Fishes to Mind-Blowing Wishes:

Tapping the Universe Within for Real-

Life Miracles.”

Have you ever wished you could trade your daily struggles for everyday miracles? In this lively, interactive workshop, we’re blending ancient wisdom with modern New Thought teachings to show you exactly how!

In this interactive 2-hour workshop discover how the same Creative Power behind the Universe is also alive within you. We’ll explore the evolution of consciousness—journeying from the One God of Abraham and Moses bringing the “Law”, to Jesus’ inspiring call to “love one another”, to Ernest Holmes’ groundbreaking Science of Mind.

During this rich time, we’ll gather—practical tools like meditation, mindfulness, heart coherence, and spiritual mind treatment to assist us in being able to answer the call to love and be love.

Come prepared for “aha!” moments, some chuckles, and practical takeaways that will empower you to consciously shape your reality.

If you’re ready to swap loaves and fishes for your own mind-blowing wishes, join us for two hours that might just change how you see yourself—and the universe—forever! Join us as we are, “transforming lives and inspiring people to make a positive difference in the world!”

Join us at Studio 9 (1180 Houghton Rd, Kelowna, BC V1X 2C9). Doors open at 10:15 am. Enter the property by the side entrance behind the staff parking lot. Look for our signs to guide you! Please use street parking or park at Ben Lee Park (1.5 blocks away).

Or you can always watch our live stream on Facebook Live via Centre for Spiritual Living Kelowna's Facebook page.

Last Sunday’s Talk

SOUP OF THE DAY:  Nourishment and Healing

Soul Food Sunday with Rev. Barbara Samuel

Last week’s Sunday service was off the hook, as Rev. Barbara talked about true nourishment and healing. She shared from her soul about true love, true happiness, and discovering, sharing and celebrating, with a reverence for Life.  Rev. Barb talked about the commitment to cultivating good health - physical, mental, and spiritual - by practicing mindful eating, drinking, living, and praying.  Neal’s ‘Science Corner’ was thought-provoking! There are so many take-aways from this powerful service

Random Acts of Kindness Testimonial

Here is another wonderful testimonial from our Kindness Kampaign in February. This one is certainly inspiring.

Learning about the kind acts performed by others helps to inspire us and lift our own Spirits. How often do we tell those close in our lives what they mean to us? For many of us, it’s often not often enough, yet it is so life-giving as you’ll read below in this week’s testimonial.

“The random act of kindness in my little box was to send a hand-written note to someone.  I decided to make cards for my grandchildren, expressing my love for them and highlighting their unique, beautiful qualities.

I tell my grandchildren often how much I love them - this activity had me go a little deeper to really focus on each individual, to highlight the beautiful qualities of their heart, and to let them know what I saw.

The grandchildren loved the cards and the messages in them and I received many “thank-yous” and hugs.  It was a joy seeing their reaction.”

Let the ripple of Kindness continue!

TO KENYA, WITH LOVE!

On March 12, Rev. Barb is off to visit our sister Center in Kenya! She’s beyond grateful for the generous donations from our congregants—soccer balls, skipping ropes, shoes, baby clothes, and school supplies—that she’ll be sharing with the Briton Science of Mind Slum School.

Wishing her safe travels, endless joy, and a heart full of love to share.  #ShareTheLove #SafeTravels #MakingADifference

The Neuroscience of Letting Go

Founder Dr. Ernest Holmes once said, "Never limit your view of life by any past experience.” That means learning to let go.  “Letting go” means to release or relinquish control over something, whether it be a thought, feeling, situation, or person, that is no longer serving you, allowing yourself to move forward without being burdened by the past; it often involves acceptance, forgiveness, and a shift towards a new perspective.

  • Neuroplasticity: Studies show that our brains can rewire themselves when we consciously shift our focus from stress, fear, or resentment to gratitude and acceptance.

  • Cortisol & Stress Response: Holding onto grudges and stress triggers the body’s fight-or-flight response, increasing cortisol levels and weakening the immune system. Mindfulness and forgiveness help lower cortisol and promote well-being.

Science supports the idea that releasing emotional baggage improves both mental and physical health.

Ernest Holmes believed that the world's religions, science, and philosophy all share a core concept. Here we examine the similarities between Science of Mind and Buddhism.

Both Science of Mind and Buddhism emphasize the power of thought and consciousness in shaping reality. They share the belief that suffering arises from misperception and that enlightenment or spiritual awakening comes from aligning with higher truth. Both traditions encourage meditation, mindfulness, and affirmative thinking to transform one's experience.

Additionally, both reject the idea of a distant, external deity, instead viewing the Divine or ultimate truth as something within us and accessible through inner realization. While Science of Mind uses affirmative prayer and mental science to demonstrate spiritual principles, Buddhism focuses on detachment, compassion, and the Eightfold Path to transcend suffering.

TAX RECEIPTS ARE IN THE MAIL

Rev. Diane has lovingly prepared the 2024 tax receipts and has handed them out on Sundays at service. If you live away or were unable to pick your receipt up, they have now been mailed to you.

The generous sharing of your time, talent, and treasure is a powerful demonstration of support for our shared purpose of transforming lives and inspiring people to make a positive difference in the world.
