This week’s message from Dr. Deborah
Happy Labour Day Monday to you all!
Today is my mom’s 89th birthday. I smile as she keeps saying to me, “How did that happen? I couldn’t be that old!”
September is a big birthday month around our house. Besides my mom, also celebrating is my nephew, my daughter and my grandson. As many of you know, Dr. Kenn celebrated his birthday on September 5th. We had a 3-day celebration for him. We had a socially-distanced dinner with our “bubble” (totally forgetting about the health guidelines around blowing out candles on the birthday cake!)
We had a special dinner at home and “attended” the Big Sky Retreat on Zoom. I was curious as to what that would be like, and it was lovely, with meaningful music and powerful messages from Dr. David Ault and Rev. August Gold (one of my very favourite speakers on the planet). If you want to view the event, check out Big Sky Retreat on Facebook or their website, bigskyretreat.com.
Then, we also had a family BBQ for Dr. Kenn yesterday.
I’m so delighted to let you know that we’re having a special event on Monday, September 21st at 7pm as we meditate together (on Zoom) for the International Day of Peace as declared by the United Nations. This is a great opportunity to unite together to “know” compassion, kindness and hope for all. Rev. Melody Bailey and Pauline Weninger RScP will be facilitating.
Many Centres for Spiritual Living will be gathering on this day, and for sure that collective energy focussed on the intention of peace can’t help but make a powerful difference on our planet. Our Centre will be one of these as we join under the umbrella of the Centers for Spiritual Living Global Services Heart of Peace Committee. I hope you can add your energy to our collective. I’ll be there, and I’d love to see you!

Blessings,
Dr. Deborah
