What It Does - Don't Make Assumptions!

Rev. Melody Bailey

Did you know there is an Assumption Club? The first rule of Assumption Club is...well, we all know what it is, don't we?

This Sunday Rev. Melody will be sharing two powerful ideas: Ernest Holmes’ teaching about what the universal mind does and Don Miguel Ruiz’s third agreement: don’t make assumptions.

As Ernest Holmes, states in The Science of Mind book: “There is one power in the Universe, and we can all use it.”. And, according to Don Miguel Ruiz in The Four Agreements: It is always better to ask questions than to make assumptions, because assumptions set us up for suffering. We will learn how these two lessons work together in our lives.

Join us at Studio 9 (1180 Houghton Rd, Kelowna, BC V1X 2C9). Doors open at 10:15am. Enter the property by the side entrance behind the staff parking lot. Look for our signs to guide you! Please use street parking or park at Ben Lee Park (1.5 blocks away).

Or you can always watch our live stream on Facebook Live via Centre for Spiritual Living Kelowna's Facebook page.

After the service, you can find all talks on our YouTube channel.

Last Week’s Talk

Impersonal Law, Personal Freedom; How It Works

Rev. Corinne Crockett

Drawing from Chapter 2 of The Science of Mind, "The Way It Works," and Don Miguel Ruiz's second agreement, "Don't Take Anything Personally," Rev. Corinne Crockett uncovered how the impersonal nature of the Law empowers us to live with greater power, freedom, and peace as we learn to make intelligent use of the Law of Mind.

Invitation to the Power of Eight Intention Circle

With Rev. Diane Hockey

Date: Sunday, January 19th, 2025; 12:00 noon, following service

Location: Studio 9 – 1180 Houghton Road, Kelowna, BC

Focus: Global Peace and Collective Consciousness

You are warmly invited to join our Power of Eight Intention Circle, a gathering of hearts and minds coming together with a shared purpose: to contribute goodness and healing energy to the collective consciousness.

This special gathering will be an opportunity to channel our collective energy toward fostering peace on a global scale. The only requirement is a sincere desire to be an active participant in creating a world that works for all.

As conscious creators, our role is to anchor peace and positivity, both within ourselves and as beacons for others. By envisioning and holding steadfast to our highest vision for the world—we play an essential part in shaping a brighter future.

The Power of Eight circle, as researched and developed by Lynn McTaggart, is inspired by the understanding that small, intentional groups can create powerful ripple effects. By coming together in unity, we magnify the energy of our intentions, contributing wholeness and Love to the collective consciousness of the world.

Personal and Collective Benefits

Research by Lynn McTaggart, a pioneer in intention-based healing and transformation, has demonstrated the profound impact of intention circles. Participants often report:

  • Personal Healing: Emotional, mental, and even physical improvements resulting from focused group energy.

  • Deepened Connection: A sense of unity, purpose, and belonging through shared intentions.

  • Increased Positivity: Greater feelings of hope, joy, and empowerment in everyday life.

On a collective level, these circles have been shown to contribute to:

  • Global Peace: A measurable reduction in conflict and discord in targeted areas.

  • Elevated Consciousness: A tangible shift in collective energy toward love, harmony, and interconnectedness.

Let’s come together in the spirit of oneness to uplift, inspire, and transform. Whether you are new to intention circles or a seasoned participant, your presence will add to the collective energy and make a meaningful impact.

Together, we can be a force for Peace and Light in the world. We look forward to sharing this sacred space with you!

Invitation: Okanagan Multi-Faith Assembly

Our Multi-Faith visit to the Buddhist temple last Saturday was well attended by many members of our CSL Kelowna Community, with about 70 people present from the various Faith groups.

Reverend Hirano of Kelowna Buddhist Temple and Manish Kumar educated us about Buddhism, its 2,650-year history, culture, and practices.

Thank you to our hosts and all who attended.

CSL Kelowna will be hosting our own event in March. You’ll want to attend. Details will be announced as they emerge.

Vision Board Workshop

A Fun Experience for All

On January 5th,  Rev. Melody’s Vision Board Workshop was attended by 17 visionaries from our congregation.

The focus of the Vision Boards was to look at one, or all, of the four quadrants of life: Creative Success; Vibrant Health (Spirit, Mind and Body); Loving Relationships and Abundance. However, any topic could

be used.

With many magazines available and tons of pre-cut out pictures and words, nearly everyone finished their Vision Boards with only a few going home with supplies to complete.

It was a beautiful and fun experience for everyone, and I heard that these boards are being hung in prominent places so they can be seen every day. It’s going to be fun to hear about the wonderful manifestations emerging from this spiritual practice.

Love and Blessings
