Or, WATCH US ON

Sunday January 26, 2025

I’m Not Afraid of The Dark (Anymore)

Rev. Barbara Samuel

When we combine Holmes’ understanding of thought as a creative force with Ruiz’s call to action through doing our best, we begin to live in harmony with the Divine flow of life.

We realize that the universe is not working against us - it’s working through us. Every thought, every action, every moment becomes an opportunity to create a life of meaning and purpose.

The veil between Spirit and matter is very thin.  According to Ernest Holmes, “The invisible passes into visibility through our faith in it.”

Albert Einstein said, 'There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.'

The hustle and bustle of 2025 is already underway.  Finding moments of peace and connection can feel like a challenge. That’s why Staff Minister, Rev. Barbara invites you to join her this Sunday for a truly uplifting experience: a day of community, faith, and joy.

Join us at Studio 9 (1180 Houghton Rd, Kelowna, BC V1X 2C9). Doors open at 10:15am. Enter the property by the side entrance behind the staff parking lot. Look for our signs to guide you! Please use street parking or park at Ben Lee Park (1.5 blocks away).

Or you can always watch our live stream on Facebook Live via Centre for Spiritual Living Kelowna's Facebook page.

After the service, you can find all talks on our YouTube channel.

Last Week’s Talk

What it Does – Don’t Make Assumptions

Rev. Melody Bailey

Last Sunday Rev. Melody shared two powerful ideas: Ernest Holmes’ teaching about what the universal mind does and Don Miguel Ruiz’s third Agreement: don’t make assumptions. Rev. Melody shared some rich take-aways to help transform our lives.

Why Uncle Bob is So Cranky All the Time:

Unlocking the Mystery with Spiral Dynamics

with Rev. John DePalma

UPCOMING SPECIAL TWO-HOUR SUNDAY WORKSHOP

Ever wonder why some people seem stuck in their ways, like cranky Uncle Bob who just can’t see things from a different perspective? Or why others embrace change and new ideas with open arms?

The answer lies in Spiral Dynamics, a groundbreaking framework that reveals how humans grow, think, and evolve through stages of consciousness.

Join us for this engaging, revealing, and interactive 2-hour workshop, where we’ll dive into the hidden patterns behind behaviour, beliefs, and conflict.

With insights from Rev. Dr. Jim Lockard’s book, “Creating the Beloved Community” and “Bruce Sanguin’s, “The Emerging Church,” we’ll explore how these developmental stages show up in our families, communities, and even within ourselves.

You’ll discover:

  • Why people like Uncle Bob resist change (and how to respond with compassion).

  • The levels of consciousness that shape how we see the world.

  • How to foster understanding and growth in your relationships and community.

This workshop isn’t just about understanding—it’s about transforming. Together, we’ll learn how to create a more inclusive, vibrant, and harmonious life and community by applying the wisdom of Spiral Dynamics.

Bring your curiosity, your questions, and maybe even your crankiest “Uncle Bob” stories. Let’s unravel the mystery of human behaviour and build bridges where walls once stood.

When: Sunday, Feb 2, 10:30-12:30pm

Where: Studio 9 – 1180 Houghton Road, Kelowna

Come for the laughs, stay for the insights. Transform your perspective—and maybe even your Uncle Bob’s!

Power of Eight Intention Circle

January 19, 2025

Last Sunday, twenty-one members of our congregation stayed after service to gather in open-hearted circles to engage in the powerful practice of joining together for group intention, using guidance as outlined in Lynne McTaggart’s book “The Power of Eight.”

Together, we harnessed the power of group intention to make a positive difference in the world.

We intended as follows:

“Our intention is for peace, kindness, and harmony to blanket the Earth, uniting all beings in love and understanding, now.”

The experience was profound as we enjoyed the “Mirror Effect” of having the intention we were sending out “rebound” to ourselves.  The energy in the room let us know WE were united in love and understanding.

Our intention going forward is to hold these circles on a regular basis, so watch the blog for announcements letting you know the dates!

Love and Blessings

INSPIRATIONAL SONG OF THE WEEK

Face of God

Karen Drucker

Karen’s message is all about healing and love – whether singing one of her positive message songs or sharing stories that are funny, inspiring, and heart opening.

Karen’s intention is to make a difference by using her music to open hearts and share a message of hope, acceptance, and love.

Karen Drucker tells the story behind this song:

“I was working as a music director for a church in the San Francisco Bay area a few years ago when the Minister of the church wanted to have a message about how we can see the face of God in everyone we meet if we just take the time.

I got her message late at night - the night before Sunday service and being too tired to do anything then, decided to wait until that Sunday morning.  In the end, it turned out I had about 10 minutes to spend writing the song which the Minister wanted for that morning’s message.  So I sat down at the piano and out it came!  In a flash I had the melody, and with some of her ideas the song was written and ready to go.

I had no idea of the impact until I performed it that morning and people were crying and looking at each other. Little did I know that this little simple song would go all around the world and be used in tribes in Africa, and workshops and retreats all around the world. I have been blessed to see where this song has gone.”
