INTENTION DEFICIT

With Rev. Corinne Crockett

“Intention is the starting point of every dream. It is the creative power that fulfills all of our needs, whether for money, relationships, spiritual awakening, or love.”

- Deepak Chopra

Are we setting our life’s course with consciousness and clarity, or is the tail wagging the dog, as we live in reaction to life?

When we experience intention deficit disorder, we are allowing distractions, external influences, false beliefs, and reactive thoughts to shape our lives rather than consciously curating what we want to experience.

As the spring equinox ushers in a season of renewal, we are invited to align with nature’s rhythm and consciously plant the seeds of our intentions.

Join us this coming Sunday, as Rev. Corinne explores the Science of Mind’s Creative Process—the powerful practice of setting clear intentions and artfully using the principle that our thoughts shape our experiences.

Just as a seed takes root in fertile soil, our intentions flourish when nurtured with awareness, love, gratitude, and trust in the unfolding journey.

It’s time to stop living in reaction and take back our minds.

Join us as we explore:

✨ Creating sacred time for introspection and self-discovery

✨ Awakening from being passively influenced by the world of effects

✨ Consciously employing gratitude to transform our experiences

✨ Gain practical tools to rise above the Law of Averages

Join us at Studio 9 (1180 Houghton Rd, Kelowna, BC). Doors open at 10:15 am. Enter the property by the side entrance behind the staff parking lot. Look for our signs to guide you! Please use street parking or park at Ben Lee Park (1.5 blocks away).

Last Sunday’s Workshop

From Me to We: The Art & Heart of the Beloved Community

With Rev. John DePalma

In a world that often feels disconnected, divided, or overwhelming, many of us long for real belonging—a space where we are seen, heard, and valued. Whether in our workplaces, friendships, families, or faith communities, we all crave deeper relationships built on trust, understanding, and mutual support.

Last Sunday’s workshop was for anyone who wants to be part of something greater than themselves, a beloved community where respect, compassion, safety, and accountability aren’t just words, but lived experiences.

CSL Kelowna Multi-Faith Presentation – March 15, 2025

We are incredibly proud of our CSL Kelowna community—our leadership, volunteers, and everyone who came together to make this event a success!

On Saturday, March 15, we had the joy of welcoming 41 people from various faith traditions across Kelowna to our Centre. Together, we explored the history, evolution, and core principles of our teaching.

Rev. John delivered a beautiful and insightful presentation, sharing the rich heritage and wisdom that guides our spiritual path.

The question-and-answer portion of the event provided a wonderful opportunity for deeper dialogue, allowing us to share more about who we are, what we believe, and how our Beloved Community functions.

The room buzzed with conversation as guests lingered to connect, ask more questions, and enjoy the incredible spread lovingly prepared by our volunteers.

Our hearts are filled with gratitude for the amazing volunteers and community members who created such a welcoming and inspiring experience.

From the moment guests arrived, to the moment they departed, they received a true gate-to-gate experience of what it feels like to be part of our spiritual community—feeling connected, informed, and uplifted.

We were honoured to receive glowing feedback from attendees outside our Centre, reaffirming the impact of this gathering.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event such a meaningful and enriching experience!

The next Multi-Faith gathering is April 5th at the Lutheran Church. Contact Rev. Corinne for more details if you’re interested in attending.

Love and Blessings

Rev. Corinne

MILES OF SMILES

Update from Rev. Barbara Samuel in Kenya

On March 15 CSL Kenya hosted more than 60 people at a community event
On March 15 CSL Kenya hosted more than 60 people at a community event

Rev. Barbara Samuel is in Kenya, visiting our sister Centre in Nairobi. On March 19 she visited the Briton Science of Mind Slum School to deliver generous donations from our congregants. The soccer balls, skipping ropes, shoes, baby clothes, and school supplies created miles of smiles.

It looks like Rev. Barb received as much joy as she gave.

Watch video of Rev. Barb singing with the students. This is pure joy:

“As within, so without.”

"This Spirit animates everything that I do, say or think."

- Ernest Holmes

“Our minds actually change reality.”

STANFORD UNIVERSITY STUDY VALIDATES

ERNEST HOLMES' INSIGHT FROM A CENTURY AGO

A study conducted by Stanford University in 2018 delved into the ways our minds influence our reality, especially regarding our health and overall well-being. The University’s Neurosciences Institute is working at the intersection of medicine, psychology, education, and business to explore not only what our minds are capable of, but also the mechanisms behind these capabilities.

One of the researchers highlighted the importance of mindset: “When people have a fixed mindset, they believe their basic qualities—like intelligence and talents—are static. In contrast, those with a growth mindset see these traits as ones that can be enhanced through hard work, perseverance, effective strategies, and valuable feedback from others.”

This notion resonates with the teachings of Ernest Holmes, founder of The Science of Mind, who stated, "Trained thought is far more powerful than untrained, and the one who gives conscious power to his thought should be more careful what he thinks than the one who does not."

From health to a sense of connection, it appears that Holmes was on point with his observations a century ago. For more details on the Stanford University study, check out this summary:

This article is ripe with research findings into the power of the mind to influence health, comfort, and even a sense of belonging.
