THIS SUNDAY’S SERVICE WILL SEE AN EXCITING CHANGE.  Rev. John DePalma is offering a two-hour workshop in place of our regular Sunday Service, extending our time from 10:30-12:30.  This is the first of four workshops based on The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz.

Everything we do is based on agreements we have made, often unconsciously. - agreements with ourselves, with other people, with God, and with life. But the most important agreements are the ones we make with ourselves.

Making new agreements, practicing a new way of being, supports us in creating a life of happiness, peace and joy.

Sunday, September 15

10:30 am - 12:30 pm

Be Impeccable with Your Word

Rev. John DePalma

If you want to be happy and free from suffering be impeccable with your word!

Arising from ancient Toltec Wisdom, the Four Agreements offer us powerful tools to transform our lives for the better, and serve as an invitation to start practicing another way of life.

Join us as we explore the First Agreement, “Be Impeccable with Your Word.”

Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.  Humans are creators, but our power of creation is invested in our beliefs.

When your attention is in the present moment, you enjoy life more intensely because you are fully alive. Use your will and attention. You choose to believe what you want to believe, and that includes believing in yourself.

Use The Four Agreements to change your actions–reactions. Every choice you make has a consequence or result. When you change the action, you change the result, and you change the dream of your life.

All you need to bring is an open mind and heart and a willingness to change your thinking!

You may also want something to write with and paper.

Last Week’s Talk

Perspective is Everything

With Rev. Cath DePalma

Last Sunday, Rev. Cath demonstrated how seeing from the Infinite’s perspective transforms how we view and experience our world. If you missed her talk, or want to watch it again, click here:

Our First Monday Night Book Study

With Rev. John DePalma

We had a great meeting Monday night with 16 participants and a lively discussion

Next Monday we’ll be jumping into Chapter 2 “Obstacles.”

“The value of the community depends on the spiritual and moral stature of the individuals composing it.”

– C.G.Jung

What obstacles arise in developing and living as the Beloved Community?

Everyone is welcome to join what promises to be an interesting conversation! I invite and encourage you to read the introduction and Ch 1 as well as Chapter 2 to get a sense of what’s possible in the Beloved Community, so you can be fully engaged.

When logging in make sure your name and video is on so we can get to know one another a little better. This can be especially helpful for me as the newbie in our community, to help me connect names with faces!

Also remember you can interact with chat and by using the “raise your hand” icon in the reaction drop down. I’m looking forward to seeing you all Monday, September 16, from 6:30 to 8:00!

Monday Nights with Rev. John is a 10-week exploration of the book, Creating the Beloved Community, by Rev. Dr. Jim Lockard, a well-known and respected leader within the New Thought movement.

If you don’t have the book, you can join anyway, but your experience of these sessions will be enhanced through reading the book.

If you have your copy of the book, you can prepare for our first session by reading both the Introduction and Chapter 1.

This book is available in paper-back or kindle version at amazon.ca.

HOW TO ORDER GALA TICKETS ON YOUR PHONE

We’ve heard from some people that they are unable to purchase tickets to the Gala on their cell phones.  When they click on the Events Link all they see is a blank page.  This is a bug that we’re trying to sort out, but in the meantime, if you just scroll down that blank page – quite a ways – you will get to the Events.

Message from Rev. Jeanette Vinek

Board of Trustees President

Welcome our new Operations Coordinator!

Your Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Jacqie Shartier has accepted the contract to serve as our new Operations Coordinator.

The role of the Operations Coordinator is to support the day-to-day operations of the Centre.

Jacqie will be instrumental in supporting our Evolutionary Purpose:  Transforming Lives and Inspiring People to make a Positive Change in Their Lives.   She will tend to the many details that are necessary for us to provide services and programming for our Beloved Community.

This amazing woman has a wealth of experience in the non-profit sector.  She’s been an executive director, consultant, and program facilitator.

The true testimony of her value came through her references.  She is deeply loved and respected.   We are so excited we get to work with her on operations.

Jacqie is focused on training and orientation right now, and will transition into her role as the coordinator for the operations of our Centre over the next few months.  You'll get to see her in person every Sunday.  Make sure to introduce yourself and give her a big welcome.

Yet another example of Spirit in action.  We've got exactly the right person for the job.

These are exciting times at our Centre.  I can't wait to see what's next!!!

With much love and many blessings,

Rev. Jeanette Vinek

President Board of Trustees
