Who am I? Why am I here?

Who am I? Why am I here?

— Derek Hinchliffe, RScP

“When the eye is not blocked, the result is Vision. When the mind is not blocked, the result is Wisdom, and when the Spirit is not blocked, the result is Love.

Chinese Proverb

Who are you? A spouse? A parent? A child? A teacher? A bus driver?

No really, WHO ARE YOU? The question is not “what roles do you play”.

It’s “Who are You?” Some people may believe such an existential question should be left to philosophers. But (spoiler alert) the fact is you already know the answer. Derek Hinchliffe, RScP, will lead you on a journey of discovery; a journey intended to help you remember who you are, and why you are here.

We are now livestreaming in 3 places!

Join Derek and the rest of the Sunday Six on February 6th at 10:30am on Facebook Live, YouTube or the home page of our website.

Tune in early at 10:20am to hear the music of New Thought musician, Nathen Aswell.

The SOM theme for February is Living Everyday WonderThe Inner Life. We are invited to remember that not only am I One with Spirit, but that this Spirit is all that I AM. I AM That.

This Week’s Science of Mind Theme

Can I See God in Me?

We are clothed in a body and we have a personality, but we are much more than that. We are divine beings who have come to work on our consciousness, to remember who we truly are, and to remember our essential being. This suit of flesh is the vehicle we use to function on this plane of existence and fulfill our purpose of transformation.

Every human being is a divine creation made of the One Substance. Each person is an individualized and unique personification of the Infinite Spirit. This embodied Spirit in us is our true Essence and the Essence of every human being. There is a Divine Wholeness, a total interconnectedness with the Origin.

This Pure Essence is our divine spark. It cannot be lost or damaged, diminished or destroyed in our eternal journey.

God is Love. God is in you, therefore Love is in you. That Love is the only ingredient we need to reveal our true self. When we love ourselves for who we really are, we elevate our spiritual consciousness. If we do not discover our Authentic Self, we will let the world identify ourselves for us. This is how we lose our authentic power.

To love oneself is the way to the Divine.

Annual Membership Drive

It’s that time again! Your membership at CSL Kelowna expires at the AGM in March each year. We each have the opportunity once again to take the powerful step of consciously choosing to become a member of the CSL Kelowna community. As we do this, we re-commit to our purpose of Awakening Humanity to its Spiritual Magnificence. Find out more and complete the application form on the Membership page of the website.

Support and Celebration

One of the great things about belonging to a spiritual community is that we are here for each other to celebrate life’s milestones and to support one another during challenging times. If you are struggling right now or you have a life event that you would like to have honoured, please let us know. You can email Amanda Pope at amanda@cslkelowna.org.

Prosperity!

Your Receipts = Cash for CSL Kelowna

Do you shop at Nature’s Fare? Please save your receipts. Nature’s Fare will donate 3% of your receipt totals to CSLK. What an easy way for us all to generate prosperity for our Centre! When we’re back in person, we’ll have a little box for you to drop your receipts into.

Meanwhile, please keep those receipts!

Our Shared Values

With our Foundations of the Science of Mind course now in progress, we are reminded of the values we share in this philosophy. Each week, we will share one of these values in our blog as well as on Facebook.

SHARED VALUES: Spiritual Living ~ As we learn and practice our philosophy, the Science of Mind, we live in constant realization of the Divine Presence and we see, feel, and trust this Presence in everyone and in everything. We live principle-centred, Spirit-led lives and turn to our principles for guidance in all moments and all areas of our lives.

More Ways to Connect and Be Inspired!

If you follow CSLK’s Facebook page, you may have noticed new inspiring posts throughout the day. It’s our way to stay connected with you and share our philosophy with a broader audience. We invite you to ‘like’, comment and share any post that resonates!

Here are a few of the messages we shared this week. Click on any image to see more or go to the entire Things to Remember album.

MIND-FULL MOMENT

Man, by thinking, can bring into his experience whatsoever he desires — provided he thinks rightly, and becomes the living embodiment of his thoughts. This is not done by holding thoughts, but by knowing the Truth.
